Help! Why doesn't my hair look like it used to?!?!

Do you find yourself constantly obsessing over how your hair USED to be when you were younger?? (Yes, that is my senior picture )

.

In high school, my signature hairstyle was wearing my hair natural, messy and air-dried. I used John Frieda “Go Blonder” shampoo and conditioner and NEVER used any kind of leave-in product on my precious baby angel-wet waves, post-shower 🤦‍♀️ (which is even more insulting after I had just assaulted my hair with a shitty $12 bottle of target shampoo and conditioner )

.

Unfortunately, my hair has taken several hard beatings from bleaching the shit out of it constantly in beauty school, starving myself with bullshit unreasonable diets for years (YES, the saying “you are what you eat” is true when it comes to your hair and skin) and beating and ripping through it with cheap brushes and tools with a complete disregard for my precious follicles-to which my hair is connected my head!! They were in desperate need of a proper cleanse and detox , an example of one of the most horrific habits I had was tightly knotting it on top my head while I slept- with a damaging, grip-tight, rubber hair-tie (PLEASE STOP USING THEM!!!)

Don’t worry!! Not all of us are born with the “simple and finite” rules of Haircare #legallyblonde and it’s not just you- almost EVERYONE who sits in my chair has concerns that they’re balding and/or loosing hair and/or they’re experiencing a new hair texture that their old regiment is simply NOT withholding. Did you know hair changes growth-cycles every seven years!! Have you had babies? Been extremely stressed-out? Started a new medication? Any reason for a shift in hormones? Are you eating TOO much protein?? You’re likely experiencing a new growth-cycle, and your follicles need you now more than ever!!!

.

Here are a few good easy ways to check yo self and how to be kinder to your follicles- It’s never too late to be better to the follicles you still have!!

.

1.) Install a shower head water filter! You can have them installed into your entire house, but it’s pricey. So here’s my easy, quick “fix-it”. You can easily install this to your shower head. Ive noticed improvements to my hair, skin, and even my nails!! There’re are even ones you can put over your bath faucet if you’re a bath person.

Clarify your Scalp! You should clarify you scalp at least once a month to help remove product build up and hard metals and minerals that can gunk up on your scalp and clog your follicles. Heres one of my favs.
